Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Sasan Gir, is a forest, national park, and wildlife sanctuary located near Talala Gir in Gujarat, India. This is the only place in worldwide where Asiatic lions roam freely in the wild. It was established on 18th September 1965 to protect the Majestic lions in India. The total area of Gir National Park is 1412 square kilometers, out of which 258 square kilometers is core area and 1154 square kilometers is a buffer zone area.

The most popular option for visitors is 4*4 Open Gypsies vehicles come in 4-seater, 6-seater, and 8-seater options. These vehicles are open from all sides to explore wildlife in the forest of Sasan Gir.

A limited number of vehicles are allowed to enter the jungle in each shift. A maximum of 60  safari are allowed to enter the park at a time by the Forest Department.

All these BS 6 Versions vehicles are managed by the state forest department and owned by the local people of Gujarat. Only vehicles that are registered with the forest department under vehicle model conditions are allowed inside the park for a jungle safari. Private vehicles are not allowed inside the park. Gypsy safari are booked in advance by the visitors for a jungle safari tour at Gir. Advance online ticket booking can be booked within 90 days from the date of travel. Visitors are strongly advised to book your permit in advance to ensure hassle free jeep safari tour.

Gir National Park Safari Timings :- 

The Forest Department Gir organizes a jungle safari for visitors twice a day, once  in the early morning and second one safari late in the afternoon. The duration of the jungle safari at Gir is approximately 3 hours in every shift. As the time of sunrise and sunset changes with the change of seasons, the time of entry and exit of safari in Gir National Park also changes.

Best Time To Visit Gir :- 

Gir is a famous national park located at the Junagadh  district of western zone Gujrat in India. It has three major seasons in a year, including summer, winter and monsoon. The hottest months from March to June, during which most animals are spot, when they come out in search of water. However, traveling to Gir is more comfortable during the cooler months.
