The tour conductors generally shift the trips ahead by half-an-hour. The 6.30 A.M trip in winter offers the best opportunities of seeing the lions. Then again, every safari in winter is equally enjoyable because the chances of spotting lions increase profoundly. The park closes down entirely in the monsoon season. It isn’t worthwhile to visit Gir between mid-June and mid-October because of the rainfall. The showers often prove to be destructive.

Each vehicle receives thirty permits, and there are ninety safaris scheduled for a day. During peak seasons, the number of safaris per day can move up to one hundred and fifty. Most of the safari vehicles issue permits over the web. One to six tourists can board one four-by-four jeep safari. If you wish to travel privately, then you must have a Euro 3 amenable petrol car.
